Your "Path" to Perfect Paving
Q.
Does Aumann's stock pavers?
A.
Is the Pope a Catholic?

We carry a very wide range of cements and paving products for use
just about anywhere.
Our range of cement caters for every project, from touching up mortar to laying bricks, and pretty much everything in between. We
can meet just about any budget, colour (with a fantastic range of oxide colourings, see below), and setting times and strengths.
Paving our way to the future
Come in and see our range of pavers, with
a selection of tasteful colours to perfectly match our Australian landscape. All our colours also
complement our range of rocks and mulches. How handy is that?
We are also authorised to sell C&M paving products, and you can view the display in our main driveway anytime. Any C&M paving
item we don't currently have in stock we can get in for you - just ask!
All these pavers are ideal for chequerboarding, steps, or decoration,
whether vertical or horizontal.
These are rated for outdoor use, too - we wouldn't
dare to offer indoor tiles as outdoor high traffic pavers!
We've priced our pavers individually to
meet the needs of most gardening
projects, so whether you need a few stepping stones or feature pavers to a fully detailed design,
come in and check us out.
We can also order different sizes to suit particular needs. Just ask for
pricing and availability!
OK, where are your pavers?
From here, you can jump straight to our

listing, or read on to learn how to lay pavers like a professional.
How to lay pavers properly.
There's nothing that looks so annoying as a broken paver, especially if it's in your yard!
There are a few simple steps you can take (pun intended) to make sure your paving lasts longer and looks better.
In one word? Preparation!
An illustrated example of what we mean:
- For single pavers, such as stepping stones, dig
out around the paver shape a little deeper than the paver (about half
as deep again as the paver thickness). This will help to ensure that
the paver is level with the surrounding ground. Why? If the
paver doesn't "stick up", there will be no stubbed toes or chipped
mower blades! There's nothing quite like the sound of someone mowing
concrete, is there?

- For any paving job,
lay a good, firm base of packing sand or roadbase,
at least half as thick as the paver itself. That's why you dig
a little deeper than the paver - it's easier to raise the paver than
it is to lower it!

- Make sure the packed surface is more or less
flat (it may not need to be level, depending on the slope of the
ground). Feel free to add or remove packing material so the whole base
of the paver is in good contact with the packing material.

- Lay the paver on the packing material and
wiggle it horizontally to flatten the mating surfaces. This will result
in a much stronger, much more stable paver. You may want to stamp or
press the paver once it's reasonably flat.
- Make sure at this stage that the paver sits
above the surrounding ground by a few millimetres - this allows for
compression and subsidence. It's not absolutely critical, but
it will look much better for much longer!

- Pack around the edges of the paver with the
packing material. This will stop the surrounding ground from "sagging"
around the paver.

We hope this gives you a good head start on your
pathway of perfection!

| Terracotta 400mm Pavers | The earthy Red shade shown here complements our mulches, red granite, Castella Toppings, and even works well with Castlemaine Wallers!
With a lighter mortar, they can also draw attention to, or away from, or extend, a red brick feature wall. | | . POA | 50 x 400 x 400 mm | Each | | | Charcoal 400mm Pavers | These ash-coloured (or charcoal) pavers complement our range of charcoal water features, and look great en masse as a formal entranceway, or to highlight and complement bluestone features. | | . POA | 50 x 400 x 400 mm | Each | | | Oatmeal 400mm Pavers | The bone (or off-white) pavers are ideal for light, modern gardens. They're great in small backyards, as they help to open up the area.
These pavers are a good match for our bone water features, or as a nice, subtle contrast with Lilydale or Castella toppings. | | . POA | 50 x 400 x 400 mm | Each | | | Sandstone 400mm Pavers | The perfect surround for our sandstone planter troughs, or either sized decorative urns. Of course, there are many, many more uses than what we can mention here!
They will provide a darker, softer highlight than the bone coloured pavers. | | . POA | 50 x 400 x 400 mm | Each | | |
